Description

Sonic was injured badly, despite his healing. The doctors shook their heads, and left the hero and his brother alone in his hospital room. "You're discharged tomorrow" was all the nurse said before she turned her back, grieving. Upon the bed lay Sonic, what little remained of his tattered limbs wrapped in bandages.
"What are we going to do, Sonic?" Tails asked with a tear in his eye.
"I don't know, little bro'" Sonic said, closing his eyes in discomfort. He hope the nurse would include a prescription for the painkillers he was receiving through the IV in his shoulder. "We'll think of something, we always do. But for now..." Sonic grimaced. "You're gonna have to take care of me, Tails." A tear escaped his eye at the realization of how truly helpless he now was should Eggman return for him.
The next few weeks crept by, with Sonic barely managing to keep his spirits up. Amy Rose and Cream were all too happy to play daynurse, working to help Sonic eat, bathe and stay occupied. Vanilla had the pleasant surprise of gifting a wheelchair, allowing Sonic to get out and see things. As a result, Sonic was developing a real love of going to the movie theatre.
But one, sad thought always weighed on Sonic's mind; Where was Tails? Since the day he'd brought Sonic home, he'd only stayed around long enough to ensure Amy and the others knew what to do, before vanishing into his workshop. He'd take his meals, even sleep there. And when they asked Tails why he'd suddenly become a recluse, he'd merely lock the door.
Today was raining. Squalling, really. The reamains of a typhoon lashing the little house. Typhoon. The Blue Typhoon. Old memories Sonic didn't really want to think about. That happened a lot lately. In fact, on a day like this, Sonic would revel in whipping along with the winds, laughing at nature's fury. No. No more. Please, no more.
"Amy, have you heard from Tails today..?" Sonic's eyes glistening sadly in the candlelight. "Is it me? Am I so broken, so deformed he can't bear to look at me anymore?" He missed his brother, more than anything. Sonic began to sniffle, and Amy placed a hand on his shoulder, unsure what to say.
"No, big brother-" Sonic spun his head around, a hopeful smile on his face. "I could never feel that way. And I promise, it's been well worth the wait!" Tails flashed a tired yet fierce grin, that Sonic couldn't help returning.
Scream of fear cut through the air as buildings crumbled and people ran from the machine's onslaught. Station Square was under attack. The Doctor laughed, nothing could stop him now, not even GUN's feeble attempts; He'd written Sonic off as no longer a concern over a month ago when his trap proved too much for the blue pest.
Suddenly his machine shook, jostling him so hard his teeth rattled, alarms blaring warnings from all sides-another jolt, crash, smash, the sounds of metal ripping as his mighty machine crashed to the ground. The doctor looked up to see a blue and shining blur come to a halt; new limbs flashing as they caught the sun, metallic joints sliding effortlessly as Sonic struck a challenging pose. "No! I DESTROYED you!!!" The floundering human squawked.
"Hiya Eggy." Sonic taunted. "Miss me?"

This pic has officially made my day.

I am a huge, huge fan of seeing Sonic cope with disabilities, illness, injuries, etc. and there's so very few pictures of such sort out there. I think the one thing I love most here, is the little story that goes with it :) I reckon you should consider making a fan fic out of it :D Would be very entertaining ^^ haha.
